John was gone all this weekend with his family in Mississippi, which left me here alone for Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful dinner of cheese ravioli though, so it wasn’t that bad. I wasn’t all that lonely either, because of Beranor. Beranor is the name that John gave the little fellow you see to the left. John made him for me before he left, and left him for me to find when I got home from work on Tuesday night. He was sitting on my desk when I got back, and came with this little note:

I’m a little dragon,
and I was told to wait
‘cause there’s a girl that needs me.
I hope she won’t be late.
I’m a little dragon,
and Oh! I guess you’re she!
‘Cause I was made with you in mind
and you in mind with me.
Love, John.
P.S. His name in Beranor

I was so overwhelmed by the effort it took him to do this that I got all weepy and sniffly. John doesn’t do artsy/craftsy things too much. He’s a much more practical and down to earth person than I am, so the fact that he went to so much trouble to do this for me made me melt. I got a bit lonely this weekend, but not as bad as last time I was stuck alone here. I just kept looking at Beranor, and I felt better.
