9 NINE – Nine small rag dolls, stitched together from burlap and clock workings and lenses, are all that stands in the way of the world being overtaken by the Machines.

John and I had high hopes for this movie. I mean, it was a special effects movie with Tim Burton involved in it. It was certainly eye candy, but we sadly decided that the movie’s whole budget was spent on the CG and the script was ignored. It has no soul, which is ironic considering that the actual plot was about a soul and what it means to have one. We were both disappointed in the storyline, but the CG really was gorgeous.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Single-Disc Edition)Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky  prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers.

The Transformers sequel, totally ‘hollywooded’. The CG is more, the plot is less, the script is non-existent and the believability is nil. We expected this one to be not-so-awesome, so we weren’t too disappointed, but it wasn’t good at all. They put in two Jar-Jar robots that just compounded the nastiness. This movie is only an excuse to have giant robot fights, and actually includes the line “Give me your face!” Don’t get your hopes up.

Star Trek (Single-Disc Edition)Star Trek – On a journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind.

John and I both went into this movie mostly expecting it to suck, and we were shocked as hell by how awesome it was. I admit to sobbing through the first 15 minutes of it but the rest of the movie was happier thankfully. I was blown away by the set design and cinematography, but the plot line, script and acting were stunning as well.  Total LOVE for this movie, and I will be buying a copy. Well done!
