I’m about to run my first month’s specials. They’ll go out in the first-ever client’s newsletter on December 1st. You all get a sneak peek because Photoshop doesn’t have spell checker.

John and I went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon. We bought a pack a razor blades. I told him to save one for me because I hadn’t had new blades on my shower-shaver in over 5 months. I wanted smooth legs again, dammit! Anyway, we got home and put up the food and I thought no more of it until this morning. John shaved his face before he left this morning, and I was thinking “Aewsome! I get to shave my legs in the shower!” So I go in to put the new blade on my razor, but I can’t find th eone he was supposed to save for me. I walked all over the house in my skivvies looking for the damn thing. Two bathrooms and a kitchen later, I give up and grumble my way into the shower.
Where I find that John put the new blade on my razor himself. Awww. :)

Alright. I know half of you people don’t have the same address as you did last year when we sent out Christmas cards. I also know that we don’t have your new ones either. So, please let me know your address, even if you think I already have it.
For those of you that don’t want it on the web, crickie@gmail.com me.

It’s 3am, and I’m awake. I can’t sleep. I’m so keyed up over nothing. No, it’s more the prospect of nothing. Yep, that’s right. I have no new shoots and I’m a whiner. Today’s issue: where to meet moms if you’re not a mom yourself. I’m starting to feel like a creep at th elocal playground. I go with my camera and no kids. I’m sure at least one person has thought that I am some pedophile just waiting t snatch a child and drive off with it. I can’t show up at the local mother’s clubs with no kid to bring. Same goes for mailing lists and other mother-only things. So… what can I do that puts me into contact with lots of moms but doesn’t require me being one? John suggested offering my services to the boy scouts. I need to replenish the local kids boutiques with cards. I’m even considering going to church out of sheer desperation. Not to meet God, mind you.. to meet moms. Arg.

John and I are going to see his family in Mississippi for Thanksgiving. We’ll be one from Wed to Friday night. I may or may not have net connection. Hopefully the family crazy will keep my mind off of the lack of business.

On the bright side, my first newborn was just born a few hours ago. That session will be a LOT of fun, and very interesting. I have a big basket and some fur, also some creative things like a huge stocking and some baby blocks. Have to bring trashbags to tote the peed-on things home in. Hah hah.

The shoot with Meredith went off really well. We both had tons of fun. She surprised me with how darn CUTE she was. Like, every move she makes just made me want to go “Awww.” She also surprised me a bit with how much she likes to ‘dress-up’. I mean, there’s a little of that in every girl, but she was really digging on the froofy stuff and the crystals on her face. Anyway, here’s a few as I’m editing. :)

Ice fairy I have a shoot with a friend coming up. She’s got blond hair and a stunning face, and she’s letting me do whataver I want to with her. I plan on doing some new stuff, but the top of my list is to dress her up in my old ice-fairy getup. I loved the set that I did of myself (left), but for obvious reasons I can’t really use them in my portfollio. So, I plan on recreating that with her. Or, at least, I hope to. The light may no co-operate. She’s all excited about it though. We plan on running through my costume closet like little girls. She wants to do the french maid. I want to put her in the showgirl outfit or my lavender vixen bits. Maybe a fun devil dress to offset the angelic look of the ice fairy. The peacock costume is gone now though, and the Alice costume is in need of dire repair, so those won’t be available to play with. Whatever we decide to do, it’ll be a great time!

My gorgeous friend K let me arrive early to her wedding to do some practice bridals. I think I got some pretty nice ones, but I’m sure glad I wasn’t the real photographer there. It was pouring for the entire morning, and most of the shots inside are useless. K says I’m allowed to use the good ones for my portfollio, so here are some. :) For those of you that want to see all that i took, go here.

Some from my two most recent shoots. 3 year old boy and a maternity shoot. The boy got cranky about an hour in, and I was worried I’d bombed it. His mother called and yelled into the phone “I love them!!” The maternity shoot was tough, and the mother wasn’t as enthusiactic about the results. Hopefully the newbown shoot with her unborn son will make up for it. The tag quote about daddy’s guys was her idea, just to mess with her husband. I thought it was hilarious!

I just booked a $300 shoot for Tuesday. That brings this month’s total shoots up to 4 with a possibility of a 5th in the works. If number 5 does schedule, then my income for this month will be almost $900, which is the monthly goal I set for myself back in August. Yay for income! I hope this good-luck streak holds through December, or we’ll be giving Ramen as presents this year. I was telling Larken this yesterday and she says “… And you were all worried last week that someone else was doing what you’re doing.” I still know i got lucky this time, because the $300 one found me via Google. I have no idea what she searched for, but she said my site came up first.
