Incidents and accidents

An IM conversation with Meggie that made me feel good.:

(14:27:42) Meggie: Tim wants to know how you’re going to do our wedding photos and be in the wedding at the same time
(14:27:55) Me: Easy, tell him i won’t BE doing your wedding.
(14:28:02) Meggie: what???
(14:28:03) Me: i’m not that good yet
(14:28:08) Meggie: i need you!!!
(14:28:16) Meggie: yeah but we’re not getting married yet
(14:28:42) Meggie: we’ll have you and a backup photographer for the shots you have to be in
(14:29:00) Meggie: who better to tell me what I want than you?
(14:29:01) Me: i’ll tell you what i told mom: hire a real photographer, and i’ll take pictures anyway. besides, i have to steal you for a bunch of practice bridals
(14:29:22) Meggie: you are a real photogrpher
(14:29:29) Me: not a real wedding photographer
(14:29:49) Meggie: Yeah but i wont like anyone else as much as you and end up thinking what if.

It’s nice when your family thinks your stuff is awesome. She also said she’d have me over so often to take picture of her kids they’ll think Aunt Hedder has a camera implant in her face.

40: I did it!!! I drove today. For the first time in over a year, I got in a car and drove it somewhere. I drove it around the neighborhood a few times, then decided that since I hadn’t shit myself, I could take it a few blocks to Wal-Mart. I felt so good I rolled down the window and howled at some pedestrians. Bad me.

39: I finally have a car! John’s truck was totaled out for more than we expected to get, and his dad matched the check and a little more so we could afford to get a new car. I was mentioning it to Larken a week ago and she says “Well, we’re running out of space in the cruiser, and we need something bigger. Want to buy this one? We just need it paid off so we can buy the new one.” John and I discussed it between ourselves and with his dad, and we all pretty much figured it sounded like a good idea. It’s little, it’s blue, and it allll mine.

38: I walked to Wally-world and bought a WoW card, contact solution, Jumanji on DVD and some panties. Yay polka-dot panties. I couldn’t pass up brown.

I need to do these more often, so I don’t bomb the f-list weekly.

37: Olivia (my most willing girl model) had her birthday party today and her pseudo daddy asked me to come take pictures for him. Not the most stunning picture technically, but I loved the colors.

36: Found this fellow in my planter when I opened the blinds this morning. He was so bewildered that i had time to snap this picture before he lept out of the planter. Hello, I’m growing squirrels!

35: I got my canvas today! It looks awesome and I’m sure people will want to buy when they see it.

34: S was a blast in the pink petti.

33: Larken took me to the zoo with Munchie and Benji. I love love the zoo.

32: I finally fixed the cotume closet. It now holds more photo props than costumes for ME!

31: I had grown siblings jumping off of benches. My job rocks.

So, finally here are some from the session I donated. She may have a tumor, but she sure doesn’t let it slow her down any. We had a blast, and we even got her mommy to dress up for a few shots! I hope not only to get a load of referrals, but to get to work with this girl again.

Shoot on Saturday. Not remarkable work, but perhaps that’s because I was too busy laughing. They were tons of fun. The first one is totally Invisible Horse.

I have one coming up tomorrow I donated to a little girl with a malignant tumor in her brain stem. I wanted to give her a photo sesion to help her feel pretty as she’s recovering from her next round of chemo in two weeks. She and her mom wanted a dress-up fairy shoot, so I’m packing all of my fluffy stuff. Hopefully we’ll have plenty of time to play before it rains on us. I’m sure the photos will be adorable.

30: I worked today on getting my DVD photo slideshows for clients working. This is the first one, with the very first LightScribe label burned! Very nice.

29: I got my first petticoat today! It’s baby pink. I can use it on my next girly shoot!

28: Happy Valentine’s day, sweetie. I cleaned your kitchen.

27: My studio sample book arrived today! I am thrilled with it. I can’t wait to finally show it to this girl’s mom.

26: My mom loves me. Happy Valentine’s to me.

25: John’s dad gave us his old laptop after buying a new one for himself. This makes me very happy, because I can work when John’s WoWing on my machine.

24: Two of our friends got married. I got to get some practice shots!

23: I got my metallic print samples for showing to clients to order today. I have to say that i am blown away by the color in these. I cannot photograph them well, but they are AMAZING!

22: in a spectacular feat, the Stump leapt from the floor to the mini-fridge to the counter, knocking over a pitcher, a tall fragile glass, a short glass, a vase, and a bowl of M&M’s. The tall glass, the vase, the pitcher and the bowl of candy all flew into the sink, while the short glass flew across the room and sprayed water all over one wall. The only thing that was broken was a very thick bown that was already in the sink, which the tall fragile glass landed in. WTH?

21: Flowers in a vase at our favorite breakfast place.

20: Instead of plants in this planter, it’s birdseed. Chickadees are so much more fun to watch than leaves.

Chris and Trin got married this weekend. I wanted to parade Trin around outside for a while to get some wedding pictures to use in my portfollio, but it was 28 degrees out. We farted around in the basement room of the wedding venue for a while, but there was so little light there that the pictures didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. Thank goodness she didn’t hire me to be her photographer! I need to find the mom of the two girls in red because I badly want to use some of those for my website. Watch out: tons of photos…. because I can.

19: I made this kanzashi barette, but I never wear it. I wore it all day today.

18: My snowflake clings make nice shadows at sunset.

17: I have one brown spot in my eye. Just one.

16: I dropped my makeup. I drop everything.

15: We got snow at 3am, then ice on top of it. This was what it looked like at about 11am.
