Well, I’ve been working 9 hour days for the past month, so I’ve been having trouble finding time and energy to update. No time in the morning, and I’m too tired at night. This Christmas was a long one. Meggie and I got together and exchanged stuff early. I got her a crickie.com collaged tote bag and a world builder game collection. She got me the amber seahorse I’d been oggling from Amber Dreams (the local amber store) and a really awesome card with tow little girls playing in the mud on it. I drove to PTC early to give my mom the geisha I made her. It was almost a disaster, because I used a wire support for her legs. The wire expanded in the oven and pushed her over, twice. Her sleeves and the edges of her obi roasted, and both of her arms fell off. I slathered on the superglue though, and mom was happy. You can see the before and after shots at the end of the color gallery.
Larry was impressed with his present. I drew him a self portrait with the prismacolor markers he got me last year. I liked how it turned out, and I think I’ve never gotten a better reception on any of my art before. I doubt that any artist has ever had their work so well received as I have. It’s a nice feeling. He got me Kingdom Hearts and all needed to play it, including the PS2, for which Megan totally bitched me out for accepting. She thinks I suck for taking things like that. I told her that it’s none of her business and that I shouldn’t have to justify myself to her for putting someone’s feelings over money. She then stated that I’m using him as a ‘sugar daddy’ and refused to speak to me again after that. I got so mad at her that I called her up and left some rather pointed messages about money on her machine. I couldn’t get to sleep for a few hours last night, because I felt like shit.
John got me a new computer chair with a seat height adjustment, a seat angle adjustment, and a back angle adjustment as well as about three inches of heavy padding. This is a marked improvement from my old chair, which has about one inch left. My bony ass is rough on those things. John’s dad got me a TV stand, Mom got me some really pretty fairy stuff to put on my walls, and Jared got me The Abyss on DVD. I got to see my mom on Christmas, so my day was pretty good. I thought it was going to suck because of the divorce, but I enjoyed the day.
