John and I al a lot of our friends were all in some sort of large city. I was outside with The Stump. She was exploring and I was watching hummingbirds on the porch of the house we were in. I looked up and I saw the beginnings of an alien invasion. I saw the saucer swing into view over a building and I stood there, just watching it. As it swung further into view, I was able to see under it; dangling from the bottom of the ship was a typical domed capitol building.. upside down. “Huh.” I thought, “I wonder what they’re going to do with that.” and just as I thought that, the capitol building dropped right smack onto another building, huge fireballs erupting and people running everywhere. Out of the corner of my eye, I see two other ships, capitol buildings also dangling upside down under them. “Well, damn.” I said. “I guess they’ll run out of capitol buildings soon.”
So I figure I’d better get inside, for all the good it was going to do us if they’re going to drop things on us, but hey, it was better than being outside in the fires. It takes me a while to collect The Stump, as she is terrified and dropping little poops everywhere. I finally grab her and go in, where I find the house on fire already. John is collecting panicked friends and getting them into the bathtub. He yells “Honey! I can protect us from the fire, but I need a cover to do it with and you need to amplify it!” Suddenly panicked that I won’t have enough time, I throw the cat into a travel bag to keep her from crapping on me while I’m trying to work and set out on trying to find a cover for us.
Just then, we hear a ship above us (and one would assume a dangling capitol building ready to firebomb us into oblivion) and out of nowhere, these huge jellyfish type things appear, floating in the air. Knowing they’re ‘fire jellies’ and therefore not of the stinging variety, I grab one and rush to the tub, hauling the jelly over us all huddled in it. John begins his work, protecting himself from fire, but I have to take that and amplify it through the fire jelly. I focus hard and we hear crashing buildings all around us, but John and I manage to save everyone we are with.
This scene is repeated several more times through the dream, John and I having to protect people with jellyfish. Towards the end of the dream, I was getting tired and worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it the next time.
