This week‘s Day in the Life was fun to do. I was surprised at how quickly everyone guessed the right things. There’s only one left unguessed. This week’s theme was hard. I always try to have a theme to do on my DITL. I’ve had a Macro DITL, a Colorful DITL, a Productive DITL, a Slow DITL, and a Teacher DITL. I don’t like the same normal boring days, so I try to theme them. This week’s theme was SO hard because I had to pick things that were everywhere, all over the world. As is, I got one already that isn’t. New Zelanders don’t have manholes. I think next week’s theme will be a Day in the Life of the Stumpy.

While our manholes are probably different than yours we do have them. And I would have totally guessed that picture. I could probably even take one very similar, assuming I could be bothered looking around next time I'm out and about. We totally have shingles too. My house has them above the window right out there.
Our fire hyfrants are also different, and I probably wouldn't have picked that one. Most of them are under the ground beneath a yellow cover thingy and the ones that stick out don't have chains that I've noticed. But again we do have them.
Some people just aren't very observant of the world around them.
I totally should have taken my camera today. I looked at it and thought about it and decided I couldn't be bothered finding the case. The manhole cover I walked over this afternoon is identicle to your photo. I would have liked to aim for a matching shot :D
So yeah. 'people in new zealand' do have that stuff. While 'people who live in tiny rural settlements', not surprisingly, don't.
