Today, I woke up with a migraine at 8:30am. This is strange because I went to bed with a migraine and sleeping usually gets rid of them. Grrr. So, I took some Excedrin and got my hat, scarf (thanks Meggie!), coat, and camera. It was about 33 degrees when I went out this morning to take more pictures. It was already beginning to drip. It was amazing, really. The sound of ice falling off the trees sounds quite similar to branches falling off of trees. I know the sound of branches falling off of trees because about 20 in our apartment complex went down last night, one landing about 6 feet away from smashing my nice squirrel-eaten birdfeeder. The ice just breaks up in chunks and drops to the ground with a crash. I took a walk up to the local Winn-Dixie taking pictures. It was quite icy, but somehow I managed to stay on my feet. Too bad my shoes are Payless running shoes with HOLES IN THE TOPS!! My feet were soaked before I even got there. It smelled like pine everywhere, mostly because of all the pine branches down. Pine doesn’t take the ice too well. I saw about 3.5 trees down on the way. 3.5 because the other .5 was still standing. Even the grass was covered. It looked like sausages.
Edit: Go to FriedKitten and watch that movie file. I Laughed my ASS off!
