Well, despite my best efforts, Megan managed to drag me out downtown last night for the giant Halloween hoo-rah of Athens. She dressed as She-Ra, Princess of Power, while I wore one of her old masquerade costumes since I didn’t want my peacock costume getting damaged before everyone sees it. The night mainly consisted of bar-hopping in the 40 degree weather. It was freaking cold, and I felt like a ninny for not having a real costume. I wasn’t really having good time (because it was 40 degrees outside and smoky inside, and I kept thinking about how I wanted John there to have fun with me) until we got to our last bar of the evening. Well, by that time it was early morning. Anyway, we went to a place called Tasty World, or Tasty Freeze, or something kinda silly. Once we got in though, we seriously had a rough time getting anywhere, because of how many people there were. My feet were already beginning to hurt like hell, so Meggie and I waded over to a table and stood around looking cute. Behind us, there’s a table full of drag queens, and one says “Hey, She-Ra!” Megan turns around, and they’re like “Hey, we love your costumes, ladies!” It was entertaining. There was this kinda creepy but really hot vampire guy there. I think he was only creepy and hot because he had dark hair, but a pair of those ice blue contact lenses. I kept watching him, because he was just so neat looking, and either he was watching me and Meggie, or he noticed me watching him. Either way, it was fun looking at him.
I was sitting down watching Meggie dance for a while, when a girl dressed as Snow White came in and started dancing. It wasn’t the best costume in the world, but it fit her personality perfectly. It consisted of a blur rugby shirt over a white one, over a really flowy yellow dress. The blue shirt had slits in the sleeves, and a red ribbon on top of the slits. She also had a red ribbon in her hair. It wasn’t the costume that caught my eye though. It was her hair. I’ve never really liked short hair on girls, but for her, it was absolutely stunning. She had long bangs swept to one side, the ends flipped under, but up on the sides, and it was dark and bouncy. When she danced, he hair would flop over into her eyes, and it was SO cute. Her face was that almost plump and cheeky that I love so much. I swear, if I’d wanted to take my digital camera downtown, I would have taken some pictures of her. She was so great. While I was watching her, an offer was made to go home. I was freezing, my feet hurt, and the music was so loud that my throat was raw from yelling above it all night. I really wanted to go home, but.. she was too cute. I’m sure my drawings will reflect her in them at some point, even though Larry hates short hair. I think though, if he’d seen her, he’d agree that she was adorable. She kept bouncing all over the dance floor, and shaking her butt. It was almost a naughty Snow White, but she was so cool. I wanted to go talk to her, but she left before I could think of something to say beyond “Hey, I like your costume!”. Sometimes I feel like a tounge-tied high school boy, but I’m not a lesbian. The hell?
