So, I’m on crane number 520 folded now. I got to the end of one box of 500 sheets and found myself 7 sheets short. So I opened the other box and counted out those sheets in sets of 10 and came up 3 short for a total of 990 cranes. That simply will not do! So, I wrote the people who i bought them from asking for them to send me to extra 10, please. Their reply? “I apologize for the missing sheets of paper in your order, I have gone ahead and send you out another package of origami paper of a pack of 500.” Wow! If anyone needs supplies, i can highly recommend http://www.schoolspecialty.com/ I’m sure the extra 490 sheets will come in handy if I mess up any while hanging them.
I decided that I couldn’t possibly string them on-site like I thought I was going to be able to do. I hadn’t planned on threading them all on site, but hot gluing or clipping them to the strings, but that won’t work due to the birds’ shapes when unfolded. So not only do I need to get them all folded, but then I need to get them all strung also! I didn’t want to have to transport them all strung due to tangles, but it’s really the only way. This site seems to have a great way to do it: http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/1000-paper-cranes I think I’ll have to put some hooks in the ceiling and start hanging them. I think I’ll use ribbon instead of fishing line since it’ll be less likely to tangle also. More like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/199565827207340706/
