It never fails. Show someone your portfolio and you’ll eventually get THE dreaded comment.
“Wow, You must have a great camera!” or even worse…
“Your camera takes great pictures!”
This absolutely slays me. I’ve heard some fun analogies and comments to say in response, so I thought I’d share:
Them: “Wow, your camera takes great pictures!”
Response: “Yeah, I just set it on autopilot and sit in the car while it chases the kids.”
Wow, you must have a great camera is like:
… telling a chef he must have great pots and pans.
… telling a painter he must have great brushes.
… telling a singer she must have an awesome microphone.
… telling the racer he must have a great car.
… telling Harry potter he’s got a great wand.
… telling a digital artist she must have a great computer.
… telling an artist she has great pencils.
… telling a seamstress she much have a great sewing machine.
