Sick and Native American

So, Larken’s child gave me the plague. Well, not really the plauge, but it sure feels like it. Grrr. So I’m all sniffly and snorty. Luckily, my blah mood has improved, just in time for me to be stuck in the house for a freaking week! I have been drinking lots of water, but so far the only effect I’ve noticed is more to add to the snot faucet. ::snnnerrrk:: Lovely. I took some decongestants this evening. It did a wonderful job of drying out my eyes and making me too hot, but I’m still gushing mucus out my nose. Wheee.

In other news… Old news, really. I was talking to Meggie before she visited. She kept claiming that we have some Native American blood in us, and that’s where we get out slanted eyes and high cheekbones. I told her she was full of poop because I thought we had everything else BUT Native American in us. Then I talked to Larken who mentions that her best friend Kim is Native American too, and has eyes that are almost identical to mine. I told her that I wasn’t any bit of Native American also. It got me thinking though, so I asked Mom about it while john and i were up there for Christmas. Lo and Behold, I AM Native American, on BOTH sides! Nerg. Sorry, Meggie! I’m stupid! Apparently, we’re Cherokee and something else that I’ve failed to recall in my excess mucusified state. Which is cool because I finally know where my kick-ass eyes come from. I’ve always loved my eyes.
