Trick or Treat

Last night was Phase 1 of Halloween 2004. I got dressed up to go around Larken and Trin’s neighborhood with Munchie. He was Spiderman, Larken was Princess Zelda and Trin was Princess Toadstool/Peach. I went over early to get my hair murdered/curled. Larken and I had a hell of a time trying to convince Munchie that Trick-or-Treating meant that you had to put ON the costume and go get candy. He just didn’t want to go out because there was candy already there. It was like “Wait, there’s candy here and I’m in my normal clothes. You’re telling me I have to put on silly clothes and go knock on other people’s doors to get candy?” This was his first year going out, so he just didn’t quite get the concept. The neighbor’s kid was Batman, so we had a good time. They were both like “They gave us MORE candy?” We tromped around with everyone for a good hour or so, all of the neighborhood moms staring at the three of us. It seems that no one but us thought that dressing up too was cool. John came to get me and we went down to Atlanta, but poor Trin had to work. Larken stayed behind to hand out candy and get Munchie into bed.

Tang was already there when we got there, but we were a little early compared to the rest of the guests. To my surprise, Charlie and Corey were there, which was cool. Gumby’s party was nice. the house was very open and full of room for everyone. It was pretty hot inside though, so a lot of people ended up outside most of the time. I was a little disappointed that there was no costume contest this time. Gumby was too drunk and Atari was too tired. I think Zim, Gir and Dr. membrane would have won the contes. The Mario brothers were great, and so was Kiki’s Klan kostume. I spent my time talking about art with Atari and Lori. Ran around and got a lot of photos, but there aren’t as many this year with no contest. Nothing illicit happened this year. People just started filtering out at around 1am. John and I left at around 3am, got back here and crashed. You can see the rest of the photos in the Halloween 2004 album.
